DR Brené BROWN’S DARE TO LEAD™ PROGRAMME
DARE TO LEAD™ WORKSHOPS
OUTLINE
Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program for leaders, teams and individuals. Dare to Lead™ certified facilitators have taken over 100,000 people around the world through this courage building programme.
Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable.
The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage- building skills to help individuals, teams and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership. Held over two or three days in your organisation, offsite or online, this challenging programme is one of the most sought after leadership and culture interventions globally to build sustainability into organisations that will survive into the next decades of rapid change. This programme is also highly sought after by individuals who can access this workshop through Pilot Light’s Open Dare to Lead™ programmes.
Two of Pilot Light’s lead facilitators Zoë Coyle and Dr Polly McGee have been trained and certified by Brené Brown as part of an elite group of facilitators entrusted to facilitate her work globally.

Learning Outcomes
The information I learned will change how I show up at work.
I better understand why vulnerability (uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure) is the foundational skill set of courage.
I better understand the critical role that self-awareness plays in daring leadership.
I better understand that it’s armour - not fear - that is the greatest obstacle to daring leadership.
I can identify the four skill sets that make up courage: rumbling with vulnerability, living into our values, BRAVING trust, and learning to rise.
I better understand that courage is a collection of for skill sets that are measurable, observable, and teachable.
I recognise that vulnerability is the birthplace of many of the behaviours that define daring leadership including creativity, accountability, and difficult conversations.
I understand that daring leadership requires showing up for hard conversations and rumbles, including giving and receiving feedback.
I understand that having these hard conversations is the foundation of building trust within my team and the foundation of building a high performance culture.
I understand how to develop closer relationships in all areas of my life.
